Lose to Win – Wellness Program


lose to win

This exciting weight loss and wellness program will consist of 24 sessions with a
qualified JCC personal trainer, a nutritional seminar, a start and finish fitness appraisal
and prizes for the winning team! Groups of four participants will compete together
over three months to lose the most weight and inches as well as gain strength,
aerobic fitness and confidence – you will look and feel better!

what's in it for me?

24 Training Sessions

Small group training sessions for four, twice per week. Choose from:
Mondays / Wednesdays  |  9am or 12pm or 6pm
Tuesdays / Thursdays  |  9am or 6pm
If these times don’t fit into your schedule you can put together your own group, pick your time and we will provide the trainer!

what kind of support will i receive?

Quality Trainers
Our JCC trainers care about your success! Not only are they available for your 24 group training sessions, but they are available any time you need a little extra support or motivation. Trainers will work with you from start to finish and help you set weekly goals.

Exercise
Come in and use the fitness centre for a work out, join in on any Heavens classes, swim in the pool, or attend a lifestyles class. You have our certified staff, state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge classes at your finger tips.

Program Nutritionist

andrea holwegner
Andrea Holwegner
(BSc, RD) is founder and president of Health Stand Nutrition Consulting Inc. since 2000 based in Calgary. She has counseled hundreds of individuals including Olympic athletes on the
benefits of healthy eating. Andrea is the chocoholic dietitian and believes in eating fully – both healthfully and soulfully. In 2008 Andrea received a regional award by the Dietitians of Canada: The Speaking of Food & Healthy Living Award for Excellence in Consumer Education. Andrea is an inspiring professional speaker who captures audiences with a buzz that’s better than caffeine with simple nutrition and lifestyle ideas to look and feel your best everyday. Her message is not just about food, it’s about LIFE and
achieving better balance, energy and health.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences, Andrea completed a Dietetic Internship to become a Registered Dietitian. She is a regulated member of the Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Alberta, the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers and acts as a media expert for the Dietitians of Canada. She is a regular contributor for CBC News Online and is often asked to give her professional advice for such national publications such as Canadian Living, Chatelaine and Today’s Parent.

In her spare time, Andrea enjoys sipping wine with her husband over a good meal. She loves to pursue her favorite sports of backcountry skiing, hiking and rock climbing in the Canadian Rockies.


Health and Fitness Testing Specialist

Peter Rogers (BSc Exercise and Health Physiology, CSEP CPT) is a certified personal trainer and one of only a few people in the city who is qualified and currently conducting comprehensive fitness and health evaluations. Peter uses both scientific principles from his exercise physiology educational background and practical concepts from his personal training experience to develop individualized exercise prescriptions. The testing that Peter performs is meant for everyone, from beginners who have never set foot in a gym to high performance athletes.
