A Taste of Judaism is a partnership with the Calgary JCC and Temple B’nai Tikvah with support by Calgary Jewish Community Council.
This 10-week supplementary educational program will provide participants with a basic foundation of Jewish literacy. Your child will learn about Shabbat, holiday practices, Jewish songs, customs and traditions and basics in Hebrew.
Classes will be taught using art, music, games and more.

Educational Director
Cindy-Sue Rabinovitch is the Calgary JCC’s Cultural Arts Coordinator and a beloved teacher at the Calgary Jewish Academy for the past 25 years. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Cindy-Sue was the co-founder and Principal of Excelsior Academy prior to re-locating to Calgary. With her life-long commitment to encouraging children to maximize their potential, Cindy-Sue looks forward to ensuring that A Taste of Judaism will be an enjoyable and stimulating experience for our community’s children.
Instructors
This program is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of instructors from educational facilities, synagogues and the Jewish arts community. Some of our instructors will include Morah Ilana Krygier-Lapides, Rabbi Howard Voss Altman, Morah Esther Silver, Lance Davis (Executive Director CJCC) and others.
Location
All classes will be held at the Calgary JCC and will utilize a variety of our program spaces including the arts and ceramics room, kosher kitchen, performance auditorium, gymnasium and outdoor spaces.

Tuesdays: January 12 - March 16
Grades 1-3 (5:00 - 6:00pm)
Grades 4-6 (6:30 - 7:30pm)
$150 members (of JCC or Temple B'nai Tikvah)
$200 non-members
Financial assistance available.
