DESCRIPTION:In the exhibit “I Am\,” I invite you to embark on a journey of self-exploration and reflection through a collection of paintings that echo the complexities of identity and experience. Each piece serves as a mirror\, reflecting the myriad influences\, emotions\, and moments that have shaped my existence. \nThe title “I Am” encapsulates the paradox of self: I am not limited to these canvases\, yet I am intrinsically woven into each stroke\, each color\, and each layer of texture. My work is a dialogue between my past and present\, a visual narrative that speaks to the essence of who I am. \nAs you engage with these paintings\, consider them not merely as representations of my thoughts and feelings\, but as invitations for you to explore your own identity. Each artwork is a chapter in a larger story\, one that resonates with the universal themes of growth\, struggle\, and transformation. \n“I Am” is an exploration of the multifaceted nature of being – an acknowledgment that our identities are everevolving\, shaped by our histories and the world around us. DESCRIPTION:Our community is coming together for Good Deeds Day\, supporting Basically Babies\, an organization that provides essential items for newborns in need. Join us for a meaningful way to give back\, connect with others\, and embrace the spirit of tikkun olam (repairing the world). Every small act of kindness makes a big impact. \nJennifer Brookman\, Manager of Operations at Basically Babies Calgary will be our special guest on April 27. \n\nWays to get involved: \n\nFrom April 16 to 27\, donate new or gently used baby essentials (see list below) to help families in need.\nCreate heartfelt cards for new parents.\nSort and organize donations to ensure each bundle is filled with care.\n\nVolunteer registration – free shirt for the first 30 registrants! \n  \nItems MOST needed right nonw: \n\nSnowsuits (0-24 months)\nSleepers (0-24 months)\nReceiving blankets  \nInfant towels\nGirl’s tights (0-24 months)\nSocks (0-24 months)\n\nOther items needed: \n\nJackets\, hats\, mittens\nSweaters\nOutfits\nPants\, shirts\, dresses\nOnesies / Undershirts\, bibs\nSleepers\nShoes\, socks\, slippers (size 0-6)\nWarm blankets (homemade items welcome)\nStorybooks\, toys (appropriate for 0-24 months)\nStuffed animals (up to 24”)\nBaby Shampoo\, lotion\, soap (new only)\n\nPlease DO NOT BRING: Car seats\, baby seats\, baby swings\, high chairs\, strollers\, walkers\, baby furniture\, maternity clothes\, breast pumps or very large baby items. \n  \nBasically Babies is a registered charity committed to supporting families / individuals in extreme need in Calgary and outlying areas with newborns through the provision of a baby layette. They offer the gift of a complete first year’s wardrobe for these infants\, in the form of a beautiful color-coordinated basket filled with clothing\, outerwear\, blankets\, toys\, storybooks\, sleepers\, undershirts\, footwear\, and other baby essentials. Their layettes are delivered through over 130 agencies that they partner with who work with these families / individuals on a long-term\, life-skill-building basis.  A Basically Babies layette is a beautiful and practical gift intended to communicate worth\, value\, respect\, hope\, and dignity to each family / individual. They want them to know that the community cares about them. It’s the circle of giving.
