Where Season’s Meet – Lisa Thomson Exhibit

Where Seasons Meet explores the time of year when two seasons share the same landscape. While winter still shapes our world, especially in the mountains, signs of renewal begin to stir beneath
and beside it. These paintings reflect a time when winter and spring coexist, together creating moments worth cherishing.
About Lisa Thomson, ASA
Painting is an all-consuming part of Lisa’s life—a space where time disappears and the outside world fades. Born and raised in Alberta, she finds inspiration in the powerful landscape: first light on a mountain peak, a storm building over the prairies, the shifting reflections on Sylvan Lake.
Using playful colours and working primarily in oils, Lisa captures scenes that spark something in her. Ideas often begin long before her brush hits the canvas—as she observes light, colour, and movement in her everyday life. She aims for her paintings to bring people to a moment or place that feels familiar and meaningful.
Lisa loves the action of moving paint across her canvas, experimenting with colour and light. She believes that the joy in creating is more about the process than the final product.
A juried member of the Alberta Society of Artists, her work is held in public and private collections in Canada, China, France, Israel, Scotland, and the United States.
