Yom HaZikaron 2021

Yom HaZikaron | Wednesday, April 14

The day preceding Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day), Yom HaZikaron was declared by the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) to be a memorial day for those who lost their lives in the struggle that led to the establishment of the State of Israel and for all military personnel who were killed while in active duty in Israel’s armed forces. We are very proud of the many members of our Calgary Jewish community who have served in the Israeli army. Currently, we have a few of our community’s young adults serving, and are fortunate to have them share some of their photos and messages with us.
