Hormone Yoga Therapy with Bridgette Shaw-Bane

January 20, 2021 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Hormone Yoga Therapy (HYT) is a set sequence of dynamic yoga postures, dynamic breathing techniques, Tibetan energy techniques, and Yoga Nidra – and balances hormones naturally and holistically. It is based in science and physiology without the side effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy. The focus is specifically on the ovaries, thyroid, para-thyroids, pituitary, and adrenal glands. Even if you are missing any of these glands, you can still benefit from the practice.

HYT helps with: PMS, Peri-menopause, premature menopause, some infertility issues, polycystic ovaries (PCOS), loss of menstruation, some forms of osteoporosis, incontinence or leaking, under-active thyroid, hair loss, dry skin, acne, brittle nails, carpal tunnel, prolapse, skin tags, body hair, hot flashes, genital dryness, sex drive, weight management, energy levels, sleep, feeling grounded, happiness, emotional stability, reactivity, clarity, confidence, strengthening your immune system, and so much more.

We will discuss the practice, demonstrate some exercises and share some success stories that I have witnessed with women, ranging from as young as early 30s all the way into their 90s. I will also share a bit about my story and then I will teach you some techniques and exercises so that you can see for yourself what it is like. Let’s age gracefully together, shall we? No experience necessary.

About Bridgette Shaw-Bane

Bridgette is a senior teacher, ERYT-500+ with YA, and teacher trainer. She was initiated as a Sadhaka Yogini in the ISHTA lineage, by her teacher Yogiraj Alan Finger. Bridgette specializes in Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Restorative Yoga, and Hormone Yoga Therapy. She is one of three women, in all of Canada, to be certified by 93 year old creator, Dinah Rodrigues, in the hormone yoga practice.

Bridgette’s yoga journey began in 1998 at DePaul’s Theatre Conservatory in Chicago where she grew up. Ten years later, she found herself living in New York, back to her east coast roots where her family is from. Here she discovered ISHTA Yoga, which became her yoga home. In June of 2019 she completed her training in Hormone Yoga Therapy after having life-changing results from the practice – and now offers the practice worldwide.

Bridgette has studied with Kofi Busia, Seane Corn, Martin and Jordan Kirk, Noah Mazé, Dana Moore, Sharon Salzberg, Krishna Das, Judith Lasater, and many others. She also worked for world renowned Ayurvedic Dr. Pratima Raishur and Dr. Pankaj Naram.

She is thrilled to be connecting with the JCC, as her background is Jewish (though it’s not quite that simple… is it ever?), but that’s a crazy story for another time! ; ) It will be good to feel back at home again!
