Chocolate Chip Cookies

This week’s recipe comes from Ilinka, one of our Childcare teachers from Room 4. When she isn’t busy with planning activities for her preschool group, Ilinka has her own two kiddos at home to help bake these delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Yield: 3 dozen

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1½ to 2 cups chocolate chips

Dry Ingredients

  • 3⅓ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In the bowl of a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or using a hand-held mixer, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, and mixture is warm to the touch. This will take approximately five to 10 minutes depending on the temperature of the butter.
  3. While butter and sugars are mixing, combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix with a whisk to combine.
  4. Once butter and sugars are mixed, add eggs one at a time. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  5. Add the vanilla.
  6. Slowly add the flour mixture until just combined.
  7. Add desired amount of chocolate chips and mix by hand until just combined.
  8. Scoop dough onto parchment lined baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Enjoy!
